Would Visit AgainWe found the staff very friendly and helpful upon arrival, we were staying at the hotel for a function, our room was upgraded on arrival free of charge and was very clean and spacious. The only fault i could find was the bed was a little bit on the firm side but we didn't lose any sleep over it. Breakfast was lovely, all freshly cooked to order. I would recommend this hotel.Miss. Very Happy CustomersWe had our Christmas Party at The Stuart. Everybody enjoyed themselves & the food was of a very good quality. All staff were very polite & professional. Rooms were of a high standard & clean etc etc. We received a room upgrade, without extra cost which pleased my girlfriend. Breakfast was very nice. All in all we had a very nice time. I would stay there again, for sure.Mr. Ian Bale - 20th Dec, 2011

Very PleasantA warm welcome by reception and all staff. As part of a wedding booking we had access to our room early, thank you. Room was a warm, light, large executive room with very comfortable king size bed and uncomfortable sofa bed for the children. Room overlooked car park but we did not have any noise disturbance at night. Bathroom had great power shower and lots of hot water. Food was very nice but rather expensive as were drinks. Breakfast was cheery and very pleasant. I would stay there again and recommend executive rooms to friends.Mr. Ashley Denman - 18th Oct, 2011

Happy To ReturnThis was our 3rd stay at the Stuart Hotel and as usual it didnt fail to deliver. We use The Stuart as a stop over for our yearly Alton Towers visit and have never had any problems.
Its bright, clean and modern, walking distance to the shopping center, pubs and restuarants, we havent dinned in the restaurant so can't comment on that but Im sure it would be lovely.
Will be sure to be returning next year.Mrs. Audrey Mackay - 5th Sep, 2011

Great Value! We arrived at the hotel on Sunday 14th August, early evening. Check in was very quick and easy. When we got to our room the air-con wasn't working, but this was quickly rectified by the Manager - Dave, who was very helpful. He also gave us a £10 off voucher for the local indian restaurant Anoki (which was fantastic). I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good value hotel within local reach of Derby Town Centre or also Alton Towers.Miss. Charlotte Evans - 16th Aug, 2011

Warm WelcomeI was staying at the Stuart on business and on a couple for warm days in August. The hotel is very nice and staff very friendly. However I had a basic room with no air con and it was a little over powering! But everything else was great. I know next time to book a room with air con if we get any more nice weather!!!Mr. Chris Harrington - 9th Aug, 2011

Would Stay AgainVery friendly and welcoming staff who made the one night stay enjoyable.
A clean hotel with a good breakfast.
We stayed for a wedding and found the professionalism of the staff great.
Only down side would be the heat, some more air con needs to be installed, especially on the third floor where the heat rises, perhaps a basic facility in a superior room.
Would recommend and stay there again.Mr. Tim Richardson - 8th Aug, 2011

Our Recent StayThe hotel and staff were very hospitable. The room; although small, was very comfortable and clean. Could have done with more coffee though. The fact that you allowed our little dog to stay was fabulous - can't thank you enough!Mrs. Sonia Jones - 11th Jul, 2011

The Stuart HotelWe stayed at the Stuart Hotel last weekend as we were attending a wedding in Derby and the reception was being held at your hotel and as we travelled from Surrey it was nice to stay the night.
Overall we found the hotel to be very good value for the money and our room was perfect for a one-night stay in the city.
There is just one thing I would like to comment on and that is when we first arrived at the reception to check in. It was around 12.30 and I said I had booked a room on line, etc. and wanted to check in. The reception guy immediately said that check in was at 2pm unless otherwise arranged. I was a bit surprised as my paperwork clearly stated 11.30 check in and that was why I hadn't phoned ahead to conirm any times. Obviously we wanted to get changed before the wedding ceremony at the local registry office at 2pm. They guy then said that he might be able to find us a "dirty" room so that at least we could get changed! However, after looking at the screen he was able to allocate us a "clean" room and in fact upgraded us. I'm not making a big thing of this but I thought it wasn't a very good first impression.
Fortunately our stay ran smoothly and the wedding reception was very good too.
I would certainly stay at the Stuart Hotel if I came back to Derby in the future and I am happy to recommend it to any of my friends and family.

Great HotelStayed here for the weekend instead of camping out at the Download Festival. Such a convenient location to the station and easy facilities such as car parking. Staff were friendly and accomodating (although they could have helped the check-in clerk by adding another person that day). The hotel was clean, comfortable and decently pricedMs. Jenny Miskov - 19th Jun, 2011

Hotel RoomsHotel was conveniently located to the town centre, the rooms were small but clean. A little bit of noise but only to be expected in this location. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that. Free parking which is a bonus.Miss. SARAH WOODHOUSE - 30th May, 2011

First Visit To DerbyThe Stuart Hotel is a pleasant and welcoming hotel on the edge of town centre in Derby. The rooms are modern in design and decoration and the staff most friendly and helpful. I will be certain to stay there next time I am in Derby.Mr. Ian Stuart - 13th May, 2011

Thu 12-may-11Good secure, off-street parking.
Very pleasant reception, bar and courteous staff.
Room was a double, but really too small to be comfortable and too dark. I banged my head on the wall mounted tv twice and I nearly forgot my suit because I couldn't see it hanging up against the dark wood of the wardrobe. Internet was free and the room came with shampoos, chocolate and biscuits - these extras were really appreciated. My ground floor room backed on to a community centre which played loud music - I could not leave my windows open for security or noise reasons, fortunately there was a fan.
The price was just GBP 48.00 which was outstanding value for a hotel in such a good location, so despite my negative comments I would certainly stay again and also recommend.Mr. Daniel Cartwright - 7th May, 2011
